LGL Cable Company has been in operation since 1987. It is a
family operated corporation. Elmer Umberger is President, Robert D.
Umberger is Vice President and Operations Manager and Sylvia L. Umberger
is Secretary/Treasurer Joy Umberger is Bob’s Secretary, and Linda Stoudt
(Bob’s sister) is the part-time payroll billing clerk. Linda’s husband,
Jere, provides help with computer projects. The company employs over
twenty people including a full-time mechanic to service the many trucks.
LGL Cable Company has an office and garage located at 236-38 Pearl Street
in Reading, Pennsylvania
The main function of LGL Cable Company is TV Cable
installation. LGL is currently servicing Comcast Cable of Reading (Berks County
area) and Comcast Harrisburg. LGL is providing aerial installation in Comcast’s
Lebanon and Harrisburg areas as Comcast’s subcontractor.
LGL Cable is qualified in both residential and commercial installations, cable
modems, digital and HDTV installations, pre-wire and post-wire multi dwelling
units, audits, trap projects, drop replacements, and a number of miscellaneous
tasks.
LGL Cable Company is also involved in underground TV cable installation which
includes underground trenching boring, and vibratory plowing. We are currently
servicing Service Electric Cable TV, Inc. from the Birdsboro area. We have done
underground cable installation for Comcast in Berks County and Schuylkill County
in the past and will continue to do so when needed in the future.
In an effort to keep up with the latest technology and advances in the
television industry, we provide training for our employees in these new fields.
