If you use either
our home banking product, Online Direct, or our Internet bill pay service,
Pay Direct, you'll want to read this.
In order to enhance the security of Online Direct and Pay Direct,
Riverfront is adding Multifactor Authentication (MFA) as part of the login
process for these two services. MFA adds an extra layer of security to the
user identification process, which helps prevent unauthorized people from
accessing your account. It also reinforces the fact that you are really at
our website when you log on to Online Direct or Pay Direct.
The first time you log into
Online Direct or Pay Direct you will be requested to choose an image
(picture) and select a name for the picture.
You will also be asked to respond to four "challenge" questions. You can
choose options for each question. Finally, you will indicate whether
you want to register the PC you are working on. That's all there is to it!
You do NOT go through this enrollment process each time you log on.
From this point forward, you will provide your PIN and password just as
you do now. However, the picture you chose will appear so you know you
really are at our website.
If you log onto either Online Direct or Pay Direct from a different
computer than the one you used to enroll in MFA, the challenge questions
will appear before you can access your account. That is because MFA
"remembers" your PC, and will ask you questions to make sure it is really
you trying to access your account. By answering the questions correctly,
MFA will let you in. If someone knows your PIN and password, but does
not know the answers to the questions, and they are trying to access your
account from a different PC, MFA will not let them in. (So, remember
