Vietnam War Memorial, City Park - Reading, PA The Vietnam War Memorial was erected in 1988. This design was chosen from a design competition in 1986 with 23 entries. The final design shows a solitary military figure with his eyes and mouth hidden so that the viewer can remember the face that they want to see. The names of the 62 KIA and 3 MIA soldiers were rubbed off of the Vietnam Wall in Washington and transferred on to the memorial rock at this site.


First Energy Stadium is a 9,000-seat baseball-only stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania that hosted its first regular season baseball game in 1951. The park is home to the Reading Fightin Phils of the Eastern League.


View from The Pagoda Rising 886 feet above the city of Reading, the Pagoda a well-loved structure atop Mount Penn has been a fixture of Reading since 1908.


Antietam Lake is surrounded by 665 acres of park land and provides a beautiful, serene setting for nature-based recreation. The origins of Antietam Lake date back to 1865 when Reading purchased a dam and gristmill on Antietam Creek, with a waterfall now flowing over the 60-foot high solid rock. There are over 12 miles of interconnecting trails at Antietam Lake Park.


Blue Marsh Lake Recreation Area Blue Marsh Lake is an outdoor recreation spot, offering 36 miles of trails with 1,147 acres of water for boating and fishing, and 5000 acres of land containing hiking trails, picnic areas, and a beach and boat launches. Part of the Greater Reading Trail System, the recreation area’s trails are great for biking, walking, hiking, and horseback riding.


The Perennial Garden at The Reading Public Museum, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, has displays featuring science and civilizations, a planetarium and a 25-acre arboretum.
